Vibrancy V2: Uses active learning to engage students

Practices

  • Unlike "traditional" modes of instruction where students are passive recipients of knowledge from an expert, active learning comprises of various strategies that engage students actively in the learning process.

Activities

  • Either individual or group activities
  • Activities could include writing, talking/discussing, critical thinking, problem solving, and/or reflecting

Observable Behaviors:

V2.1: Addresses student questions and comments

V2.2: Provides group tasks that promoted knowledge construction in community and higher-level thinking

V2.3: Synthesizes group work at conclusion of collaborative activity

V2.4: Develops student learning through active participation in lesson activities
