Structure S3.5: Paces lessons appropriately to allow diverse learners to grapple with ideas or apply concepts

Make class notes, class recordings, etc. available for students to review at their own pace
Apply "mastery learning", a student-centered pedagogical methodology
Consider pausing ~15 seconds after you ask a question and/or after a student responds. This allows students to process the question, especially those who process internally. (adapted from the Center for Effective Teaching & Learning at Cal State, Los Angeles).
- if no one responds after waiting:
  - repeat or rephrase the question
  - ask a student to attempt to rephrase the question
  - make the question more specific
  - ask students what about the question they do not understand
