Structure S3.2: Actively relates the lesson topics to the students’ lived experiences

How can we be more intentional to relate the course content to students’ lived experiences? The first step is to provide opportunities for students to share their lived experiences. This can be in-class discussions for students to share their feelings about their lives, or journal assignments for students to share their experiences, or online forums, etc. When we learn more about our students, we will develop ideas of how to make our teaching more relevant, such as applications or examples that the students find meaningful.
